We’re Looking for New Board Members
Waterford LEDC was formed in 2001 in partnership with the then neighbouring Waterford Crystal. Its aim was and is to support and develop local disadvantaged communities. The initial project and existing local enterprise development project is Cill Barra Sports Centre (Cill Barra Fitness) which is an affordable not-for-profit community and sports hall. It is used by the local community and disadvantaged groups from the locality
A recent extension to the premises includes a new fitness studio, office spaces and a treatment room. Due to this expansion, the board are seeking additional board members to support the on-going work and future potential of Cill Barra Fitness.
The board is tasked with the governance of the company including financial controls and compliance. We are seeking additional board members with a range of experience and expertise in areas such as
- Governance
- Human Resources
- Finance
- Sports and Recreation Management
- Marketing
- Local Enterprise Development
- Charity Sector
- Business Strategy
Responsibilities include the general oversight of the charity; attendance at board meetings (in person/on-line) and supporting the charity in their area of expertise as required.
