On Friday 9th of September BRiLL FRC, in conjunction with St Brigid’s Family Community Centre
and Sacred Heart Family Resource Centre, collectively hosted the Waterford FRC Network Open Day
and launch day in Cill Barra Gym.


The event was preceded by interviews and music on WLRFM where members of the three
organisations talked about their centres and the new projects that were coming onstream, ATEC
Community Education, Waterford Parent Hub and Sláinte Care Healthy Communities; Triple P,
Healthy Food Made Easy and Quit. The event in Cill Barra was attended by the Metropolitan Mayor of Waterford Jason Murphy, City and County of Waterford Councillors and industry members. The event was also the official launch of the new BRiLL FRC brochure which outlined all the projects and services available in the community.


Speeches were given by Glenn Lynch (BRiLL FRC Manager), Jason Murphy (Metropolitan Mayor of
Waterford), Geraldine Lanigan (St Brigid’s FCC Manager), Heather Kiely (Sacred Heart FRC
Manager), Edwin Adebayo (Chair BRiLL FRC), Paula Lowney (HSE), Nichola Spendlove (Sacred
Heart FRC), Amy Cullinane (Waterford Parent Hub), Kerina Foran (PPFS) and Marie Dunne (ATEC
Administration).


There were information stalls at the events where people could talk directly to and have their
questions answered by coordinators of each project. Present were The Key Project, MAD Club,
Family Support, ATEC, BRiLL FRC, HSE, Sláinte Care Healthy Communities, 5O Shades of
Exceptional, Waterford Parent Hub, Parent Child +, Ballybeg Greens, Access IT, First Steps Creche,
St Brigid’s FCC and Sacred Heart FRC.


Food was supplied for the event by Paula’s Delicatessen and Emma O’Neill from BRiLL FRC. Sound
and lighting were provided by Alpha Sounds. Tables and chairs were provided by Clem Jacob Hire.
